I've included the fblike template tag in a template I am working on for a client in Campaign Monitor.
The rendered link looks fine in "preview template" or "preview the campaign" -- the button shows up nice and clean. But when the editor is loaded to edit the campaign the button does not show up. Instead some garbled text that should be part of the HTML shows.
The template code I am using, just to keep it basic and get it working for now:
<fblike>Share on Facebook</fblike>
Everything looks fine in the preview, but the output in the editor is garbled, see this screenshot http://cl.ly/2R3i110X2707373N2K2J
Using the web inspector, this seems to be the culprit:
Maybe the unparsed TrackingLink variable is causing this? Do you have any ideas how I can avoid this problem in the editor? Or what I may have missed?
Hi AlexK, welcome to the forums! We have identified this as a bug in our template editor, it's not your fault at all. Once you finish editing your campaign in the editor, the template should display fine - but send yourself a preview to be certain.
We've raised this bug internally and will let you know as soon as it has been fixed. Thank you so much for providing these details - it's a huge help for our team.
Hi again Alex, our dev team pushed a fix just earlier, so the tracking link issues in the template editor should now be resolved.
If you try again and still see wonky code and links in the editor, please get back to us. However, fingers crossed that it's all sorted now.
Many thanks for putting up with the ugliness there. Campaign previews and sends should have not been affected - it looks like this bug was localised to the editor. Again, keep us posted if anything looks out of sorts.
Awesome. That did the trick. Thanks for the quick fix!
