At the beginning of every week, we send out 10 campaigns spread out over about 16 hours (scheduled beforehand to deliver at specific times). We are subscribed to each of these e-mail campaigns using multiple e-mail addresses at different domains so we can tell when the e-mails are delivered. Over the past 2 weeks, we've seen strange delays and wondered if this is a known problem or if anyone else is experiencing this. Here are some details:
- On a typical week, we receive all 10 e-mails to our test accounts within 1 minute of the scheduled send time. Over the past 2 weeks, we have seen delays of several hours before some of the e-mails show up. Some e-mails have never shown up to some of our test accounts (they were not spammed, either).
- Our reports are showing that some people are receiving the e-mails right away, but the percentages are different that we expect from our historical reports: we see lower percentages of people open right away, and higher percentages open several hours later (usually, most people open right away and the rate decreases over time).
We usually have very reliable experience with Campaign Monitor's sending services, and I didn't want to jump the gun last week when we saw this initially. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced delays like this... From our experience sending hundreds of e-mails with Campaign Monitor over the past several years, there definitely seems to be something strange going on.
