With all the phishing emails out there, how does a company let their users know that the new email look they are rolling out is legitimate? We are an 11 year old company, and have been sending out plain text emails until now.
Our users tend to be "old school", so how can we assure them that the new look is indeed a "new look" and not a phishing expedition?
You can always send out one last plain text email letting the subscribers know that a new look is coming and that they should be on the look out. It would be a great way to give them a chance to unsubscribe if they're not interested (to clean up the list some) and give them a head's up of the coming changes, how often you'll be contacting them, what you'll be sending, remind them to add your from address to their address book, general things like that.
Then in the first HTML version start it off welcoming them to your new look and such.
