We are adding Campaign Monitor integration to an app that already has MailChimp integration. When a MailChimp user sign-ups with our app, we show a link "How do I find my API key?" that points to http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/where-can-i-find-my-api-key/ - that pages explains to typical MailChimp users (not developers) how to get their API key.
MailChimp also has a nice "API key popup" window here http://admin.mailchimp.com/account/api-key-popup
Does Campaign Monitor offer the equivalent of either or both pages? The only thing I've found is http://www.campaignmonitor.com/api/getting-started/#apikey but this page is very developer-centric, and it could easily scare off less technical users.
Hi coopr, thank you for your feedback here. In our 'Help and FAQs', I've just put together a 'Where can I find my API key?' page for you.
I couldn't view the API key popup you mentioned, but hopefully this new help page will fill the gap for now.
Let us know if there are any other docs you would like to see added or improved - thanks again for the solid suggestion!
Thanks Ros - your new help page looks great!
The MailChimp API key popup window is illustrated at the end of this post http://blog.mailchimp.com/10m-api-calls-per-day-more/ - have a look, we'd love to see the same thing at Campaign Monitor!
Thanks coopr, its a great idea. I'll add this as a feature request internally and keep you posted :)
