Styling website address in body text - specifically for Mac Mail

Does anyone know how to make Mac Mail STOP picking up a website address in the body text? I have no styling around the website address, no <a> tag (don't want it to link) but Mac Mail still picks up the website address and applies it's own link to it. Which changes the colour to the default blue, but it's on a blue background. My company does not want this website address to link to the website, just the text.

Anyone know how I can force Mac Mail to stop doing this?

Hi catmcbride, welcome to the forums! Yes - there's a rather inconvenient workaround, which is to add <span> tags to break up the URL like this:

<p>My site is at <span>http://your</span>domain.com</p>

The same behaviour happens in Gmail as well.

That said, I don't recommend adding a URL as body text, as it can trigger phishing warnings in some clients.
