I have recently been tasked to create some HTML emails to be translated into various different languages.
This has led to a problem for me in Opera mail.
Event though the normal text displays fine (using utf-8 character encoding) the alt text does not. It looks as though it cannot process the characters.
The particular languages in question are Polish and Turkish.
The alt tag views fine in IE6 and outlook 2003.
Can anyone help at all as it is driving me (and my client) slightly mad.
This is a link to how it looks in opera mail via IE 6:
Could you post the code in question? Sometimes converting the alt text to html entities will work for foreign languages. It can be a bit of a pain though.
