How to insert recipients name in the body of the email?

Hi All

I know this is possible but I haven't been able to find the code anywhere.

Rather than have a generic greeting in the body of my email I'd like to put the recipients name i.e.
"Dear Mr Jones"
"Dear Ms Smith"

Can anybody please help me with the correct html to achieve this?

Thanks so much!

Sorry, I think BigJoe90 posted while I was writing mine!

Dear [firstname,fallback=subscriber]

Is this how I achieve what I'm after?

Thanks!

Hi AliGee, yes - except we can't automatically provide prefixes like Mr, Mrs, etc. If you would like to use a prefix, then you will have to store this in a custom field.

Here's more information on personalizing your campaign. Enjoy!

Hi roshodgekiss
Thanks for that, I will almost certainly want a prefix. Do I just add a prefix column in my Excel doc before importing it?

Yes, that's correct. If you create a 'Prefix' custom field in your account's subscriber list, then you can match it up with the prefix column on import. Cheers!
