Padding issue (?) with Outlook 2007/2010

Hi,

I am having problems with a template design in Outlook and can't seem to work out what is causing the problem. Is it applying padding to table cells?

You can see the test results here:

Full code and preview of email visible here:

I think the problem is happening to this section of code:

<table width="600" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" align="center" class="content">
                <tr>
                    <td style="width: 388px" class="leftcol">
                        <h2>Welcome to the Lowedown!</h2>
                        <p>It&#8217;s here, our signature wine. Released just yesterday and already receiving a lot of attention. Dark ruby in colour, plum cake, liquorice and prune bouquet with a viscous, soft, lingering finish on the palate. Like all my Zinfandels, this is great drinking now, better in 2015.</p>
                        <p>It&#8217;s here, our signature wine. Released just yesterday and already receiving a lot of attention. <p>Regards<br>David Lowe</p>
                    </td>
                    <td class="rightcol" style="vertical-align: top">
                        <p><b>In this issue //</b><br>2009 Lowe Zinfandel<br>Ninja@Tinja<br>From the Vineyard</p>
                    </td>
                </tr>
            </table>

And here is the CSS specific to that table:

.content {
    padding-bottom: 6px;
    }

.content td {
    background-color: #FFFFFF;
    vertical-align: top;
    }

td.leftcol {
    padding-left: 25px;
    padding-top: 25px;
    padding-bottom: 14px;
    padding-right: 12px;
    vertical-align: top;
    }

td.rightcol {
    padding-left: 20px;
    padding-top: 58px;
    padding-bottom: 14px;
    padding-right: 10px;
    }

.content p {
    font-family: Georgia, Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;
    color:#363636;
    font-size:12px;
    line-height: 18px;
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    margin-bottom:11px;
    }

I'm stuck with this one, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers
Ben

Hi all,

I decided to work around this by adding margin to the p and h2 etc elements, rather than adding padding to the td cells, not quite as simple but it works better in Outlook.

cheers

Thanks for letting us know, Ben - that certainly allows for more control over padding. Give us a holler if we can help out here :)
