I wonder why clients cannot change their billing method (per campaign / monthly)?
Of course only those who pay for themselves and with the set mark-up.
Is that a missing feature or is there a good reason for that?
PS: Maybe because mark-prices cannot be set for both methods at the same time? Currently?
Hi Boris, at present we don't let clients change the billing method themselves, as it has the potential for making things very confusing for the designer. In many cases, designers have only set PAYG rates (with markup), so if the client switched over to monthly without the designer's knowing, then you can imagine things could get very odd indeed!
Yes, you can only set markup for one payment method at any one time. Hope this is a sufficient explanation :)
I understand that things could get confusing if the designer pays for them AND they're able to switch between methods. But if they pay for themselves, everything should be alright.. they've prices with mark-up for both methods..., they pay via their own CC..., markup-profit for both methods are sent to the designer... hmm, what exactly could be going odd for the designer? I can't see the point, maybe I should get me one more coffee...
Hi Boris, that's a fair assessment - thanks for your feedback here. is this an option you would like to see made available in the app? Admittedly we haven't had loads of demand for clients to set their own billing options, but we'd be happy to consider this for the future.
Yes I would be happy to see that because if clients can choose for themselves, it's less support-work for the designer. At least in our case a client gets informed about both payment-methods before they order, so they know that both methods exists. But maybe it is an good idea to enable such an option not by default in CM but rather giving designers an explicit option to offer 'billing-method-choosing' to their clients. Could read like this:
'Enable clients to choose between their payment methods, requires mark-up prices for both methods.'
