I recently uploaded a bunch of templates for a client (all very similar but several colour options) and realised later I forgot to change the <title> tag so they all say "Email template classic" - which isn't ideal when people view the email in a web browser or when the emails (which are often press releases) are pulled in to aggregate news sites which use the HTML Title as the headline.
I've got to change them all now - but rather than setting the <title> tag to a static value such as 'Acme Gadgets' is it possible to include the email's subject? Something like <title>Acme Gadgets : $emailsubject</title>
Hi j0n0m, it isn't possible to do this as yet, I'm sorry to say. I'll gladly add your vote for a subject line tag and let you know if it's something we introduce. Many thanks for your feedback!
Wow, I just had this same request from a client. Being able to use the subject line as a title, as mentioned by j0n0m, could be a great time saver for some of my clients.
Thanks, rrivera - we'll certainly look into this. Keep the good feedback coming! :D
Any chance this has changed in the past five years? I haven't found any reference for subject lines in the documentation, and it seems like modern example templates just leave the title tag blank.
I'll assume that's a "no."
