'regular campaign'?

Trying to upload some HTML and I'm getting the error message:

You need have at least one <singleline />, <multiline /> or <img editable="true" /> tag in your template. Without these, your clients can't add any content to their emails (and are better off sending a regular campaign instead of using a template).

I'm trying to find out what a 'regular campaign' is but having no luck. I have added the editable="true" tag which isn't working. CM is also telling me there's no unsubscribe tag when there is - a bit stuck now - can anyone offer any assistance?

Basically, if you want to import and send a complete HTML page (as opposed to a template which will have content added through the WYSIWYG tools) then you would choose "HTML and plain text" as the campaign option unde r the Create & Send tab.

Is that clearer? If you are importing a template under the 'templates' tab, then you do need to define the editable areas for use with the WYSIWYG editor. See http://help.campaignmonitor.com/topic.aspx?t=129 for all the tags, and http://www.campaignmonitor.com/templates for some samples.

Regarding your unsubscribe link, we'd really need to see the actual HTML source to see what is going on there. You could contact us via support and we can help out with that.

That's great, thanks. All working now with a regular campaign.

Matthew, where exactly is "HTML and plain text" under the Create/Send tab? I can't find that. Are you referring to "Import my own design" after clicking Create/Send > Create new campaign > Next?

Hi apica,

That's correct. Sorry that text was recently changed in the app to be import my own design rather than HTML and plain text.
