I'm aware why we see "Undetecable" in the Email Client Usage report.
But I'm wondering if the reason that ours is so high (25.6%) is due to users reading our campaigns on a Blackberry?
Does anyone know if users of Blackberry smart phones are classed as not detectable or not?
Hi Adam, we've got an as-yet unpublished blog post on why email clients can't be detected. The skinny is that while there are are many Blackberry clients that can be detected, many can't, as is the case with a rainbow of mobile handsets that don't provide descriptive user agent strings.
There's a very good chance that your email is being read on a large number of devices that fit into this category. While we're trying to identify as many of them as possible, it's not always an easy task (just ask Mark here)!
Hey guys, is there any update on the tracking of BlackBerry users? I only ask as a customer has approached with the idea of having separate templates for different Client usage. Hi Andy, that is a cool campaign indeed! For the foreseeable future I think we're going to continue having all Blackberry handsets tagged as 'Blackberry' in reports. As mentioned before, not all handsets are detectable, but we'll continue to do our best to identify as many user agent strings as possible.
Thanks for coming back so quickly Ros. I can't seem to see any mention of BlackBerry in Client Usage reports? Or are they just dropped into Undetectables?
Fair enough to not be able to detect between variations of BB, but I can't seem to spot a BB mention anywhere in that report.

Hi Andy, I'm just going to check in with the team on this one - traditionally BB has shown up, but there may be a reason why it isn't coming up in this case. Sorry about the wait, but we'll get back to you shortly on this one.
We should be including Blackberry in our reports. In fact, I've found two campaigns that have been sent in your account that have Blackberry use reported. I've emailed you directly to point out which campaigns they are, as posting them here on the public forum would not be appropriate.
