I'm thinking of having a custom field to capture IDs of different campaigns we run that rely on the same sign up form.
If I use a input field for this purpose (setting it as a hidden field), every time the same users registers via the form the previous value is overwritten.
For example, a user registed in September and the campaign ID capured is SEP11CAMPAIGN. For the October campaign, when the same users registers OCT11CAMPAIGN will overwrite SEP11CAMPAIGN in CM.
Ideally the end result in CM would be: SEP11CAMPAIGN, OCT11CAMPAIGN
I hope this makes sense!
I could create a new custom field for each campaign, of course, but would prefer the option above.
Can this be achieved in any way?
Hi architxt, there isn't really an easy way to do this, but potentially you could rig something up using our API to edit a multi-option custom field. How does this sound?
Hi roshodgekiss, I'm hoping to get CM talking to our CRM in the not to distant future. In the meantime we're going to have to to a ton of manual work to reconcile data between the two systems - a freightening thought!
For now I'm keeping it simple and design campaigns so that we only need to capture IDs once.
