Absolutely love the new template builder - thank you! It means we can now offer email marketing to clients who didn't want to spend the money on design costs.
I have one question and sorry if it's mentioned elsewhere on the forum - I looked but couldn't find anything. Is there a way to set the title tag for the web version? Currently it defaults to "Your Message Subject or Title". The only way I can see to change this is to export the template, change the html and then upload as an html template. But this defeats the object of the template builder.... or have I got it wrong? Any help would be much appreciated :o)
Thank you :o)
Hi twisty, you've actually spotted something that we've been looking into fixing for a little while now :) While 'older' templates generated via the editor display 'Your Message Subject or Title', newer ones now have the title left blank. In a future update, we may make the title into the subject line, but this is still up for debate.
As you mention, the only way to change this title is to export the template, which isn't particularly efficient. I'll certainly add your interest in being able to change this via the editor and keep you posted when we fix this in a future update. Thanks for pointing this out :D
Thanks very much for your answer Ros - it was an older template I was looking at - didn't think to check a more recent one! It's great that the default title is no more - personally I'm not too fussed about being able to edit the title tag - for me it would be fine to have the subject line as the title or left blank. It's already hard enough getting clients to remember everything they can do with the editor and getting the most out of it (especially not having urls as anchor text!).
Thanks again for your help!
No worries, twisty - always happy to help out here :)
can you tell me if there are any news on this subject? How can I edit the TITLE tag with the template editor?
Can I leave it empty and it will be replace by the Subject line?
I am also interested if the <title> tag can be modified using the template builder as sometimes we may want to have a slightly different title then the subject line.
In addition, adding the following meta tags between the <head> tag
<meta name="og:title" content="Text goes here" />
<meta name="og:url" content="campaign url goes here" />
<meta name="og:image" content="image url address goes here" />
allows one to controls the content for Facebook's share message.
Please let me know if this is doable through Campaign Monitor's template builder.
