Template stretches in Outlook 2007

I have a template which is currently being used by another mail campaign and i'm trying to completely debug it for a new campaign.

The problem I currently have is that the template stretches in Outlook 2007.
My templates work fine in other clients like Thunderbird.

I also tried changing all width="%" (see nieuwsbrief_jeugdverblijven_promo_24.11.2011.html) with static pixel sizes (see nieuwsbrief_jeugdverblijven_promo_08.12.2011.html)

If anyone has a clou about what i'm doing wrong, please let me know.

Hi Donaldini, welcome to the forums! I can see the issue here, the cell widths haven't been defined properly. Instead of <td width="681px", it should be <td width="681". Once this should be corrected, Outlook should respect the widths :)

Aside from this, you may want to consider converting your template tags to our new template language to best take advantage of the updated template editor.

Danke, Donaldini! All the best with your campaign :)

Thanks roshodgekiss that was exactly what was wrong!

Now i'm fixing the other stuff that needs fixing like margins that don't work in Outlook.
However can't seem to find how to fix the problem below.

> There appears to be a spacing between the tree and ground
> The titles won't vertically align in the center even though

Hi, Donaldini,

for complete fix width is maybe better "double" definition, like '<td width="681" style="width:681px;'...

For fix space between text and cell ground do not use margin, instead use "padding-bottom" style in <td> tag - <td ... style="padding-bottom: 20px;...

Enjoy

Thanks dedra, you're correct - Outlook doesn't respect margin. Another option is to create a table cell below the title and set the height as a substitute for margin/padding. All the best!

Another thank you dedra and roshodgekiss!

I feel stupid for not thinking about nested tables, especially because i'd already done it somewhere else in the template. Thanks for all the help, you've been livesavers ;-)

Here I am again with another alignment problem :-)

As shown in the image, the tree and divider have a spacing which should not be there.
I noticed this when I tried next level of testing. The problem does not exist in Thunderbird of Outlook, but it is there in Gmail and Yahoo Mail.

I tried the double definition in style and regular tags, but alas, it did not work.

HI again Donaldini, no worries! I suggest you try adding img { display: block; } to your styles and the border="0" attribute to your images. Hopefully that solves things - keep us posted!

There should be more people like you on other forums, you were spot on!
The problem was solved by a display:block, now I can continue testing on other clients :-)
