Facebook Signup Form - Hidden Field?

Hello,
We've added the subscriber form to our Facebook page and are very grateful for it, as our main facebook page builder program doesn't allow us to build our own forms, so we couldn't add it.

Right now we have the form pointed to one list and this list has a Source field that includes multiple options that we can set for ourselves elsewhere to indicate where the subscriber came from.  The field is hidden from the preferences center because it really isn't a choice or something we want alterable.
However, will the Facebook form ever allow us to include a field with a pre-selected value but hide it, so we can indicate these at the time of signup, without depending on the customer to choose to fill it in as we would want it?

Since we hadn't had this field originally on the list, we don't have a value of say "our website form" set on all the rest to then determine that any blanks now would equate to "Facebook".    Although, that being said, is there a way to mass update a custom field on active subscribers in a list?  Maybe if we could do that, we could go with this second approach (blank=Facebook and we would update those manually, since for now it'd be a small number of people vs the rest of our list) until a better workaround is found or the functionality is added?

Any ideas or insight would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for using the app, we really appreciate it!

However, will the Facebook form ever allow us to include a field with a pre-selected value but hide it, so we can indicate these at the time of signup, without depending on the customer to choose to fill it in as we would want it?

We've had a few requests for this, so hopefully we'll slip it into a future update of the Facebook app. No promises that it will be something we'll add in the short term, so in the interim, we'd recommend creating a list specifically for Facebook signups.

Although, that being said, is there a way to mass update a custom field on active subscribers in a list?

Yes - if you create a new custom field for 'source', export all your active subscribers, add and fill a 'source' column to the resulting CSV file, then re-upload, the values in the 'source' column of the CSV file will be added to the subscribers.

Thanks, Elizabeth! Let us know how you go :)
