Does IE8 support more than one singleline tags in a layout/repeater?

I have an email template built that looks and works great everywhere I've tried it, but when I'm using IE8 (or IE7) and I try to create a new email using my template, I run into a problem using a particular layout.

Every time I try to add my layout labeled EVENT, I get a prompt from IE8 that says:

Stop running this script?
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.
Yes / No

My clients use IE8 and they've been having this problem when creating their email.

I have a various layouts in my template, and they each have one singleline tag  and one multiline tag. They all work great. The only layout in the email that has more than one singleline tag is my EVENT layout. Could this be a reason for the malfunction? Here is what that layout's code looks like:

<layout label='TITLE - EVENTS'>
<table width="600" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td class="imagecell"><img src="images/title_events.gif" width="600" height="60" border="0" alt="EVENTS" editable="true" /></td></tr></table>
<!-- START EVENT -->
<layout label='Event'>
<table width="600" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td width="20">&nbsp;</td>
    <td width="560" valign="top" class="itemlayout">
    <table width="560" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
        <tr><td class="itemtitles"><singleline label="Title" >Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet</singleline>
        <table width="560" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td class="eventinfo"><singleline label="Date" >Month 1-30</singleline>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;|&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<singleline label="Location" >City, State</singleline></td></tr></table>
          <tr><td><multiline label="Description" >Consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec non erat magna. Quisque tempus placerat elit, non porttitor risus fringilla quis. Sed lacus ante, pellentesque ac feugiat eget, gravida sit amet nisl. In eget tortor at felis cursus consectetur vel ut neque. Vivamus fermentum pellentesque mi, ac interdum nisl mollis sit amet. Donec ipsum erat, commodo a mattis non, molestie sit amet turpis.</multiline>
<strong style="text-transform:uppercase"><singleline label="Registration Link" >Register for event &raquo;</singleline></strong>
<td width="20">&nbsp;</td></tr></table>
<!-- END EVENT -->

td {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 12px;
    line-height: 18px;
    color: #333333;
a {
.imagecell {
.itemlayout {
.itemtitles {
.eventinfo {

Thanks for looking into this!
