Just a quick question..
We have a client who sells a variety of vehicles, and would like to be able to automatically send out campaigns detailing the latest vehicles he has added to his website.
Is there a simple-ish way I can automate this?
I'm thinking there may be a way to link in an RSS feed or something similar (we built the website, so we can manipulate data if we need to) but after an hour of searching around I can't really find a definitive answer.
I've had a look at the API, but I'm just wondering if there is a simpler way to do it.
Hi Lee, welcome to the forums! At present, we're looking at both dynamic content and converting RSS feeds to campaigns internally - they're both strong requests! However that said, there isn't really an easy alternative at present.
For dynamic content, you could potentially use the API and custom fields to insert small amounts of content into newsletters. But if you're willing to wait a little longer, I'd say stay tuned to our blog for RSS-to-Email - it's in the works and I'm happy to let you know when it's finally ready to use in your account.
Hi webforma, we'd like to offer you a special sneak-peek of RSS-to-email prior to its official release in all customer accounts. This is not only a chance to try out before everyone else, but help us make it as useful as can be for Campaign Monitor customers like yourself. Here's a snippet what you can expect.
Adding RSS-to-email to your account
If you would like to give RSS-to-email a try in your account, simply contact our team with 'RSS-to-email trial' under 'Summarize your question…' and your designer account name (ie. youraccount.createsend.com) under 'Tell us all about it…'. We'll be in touch during the week via email to let you know when its been activated and help you get started using RSS content in your campaigns.
Note that if you have clients who are paying monthly, they will also be able to access RSS-to-email in their account. Clients who are set to pay per campaign will not see the new RSS campaign when its been activated in your account.
Finally, we'd like to thank you for your patience while we've toiled over what we hope will be a valuable addition to your account, as well as those of your clients. We're looking forward to hearing your first impressions!
