Is it still risky to use background images?

I´m wondering if it is still risky to use background images in an HTML email and in how many clients it does not display correctly. Is it possible to instert code that will make it so that any email clients/browsers that don´t support background images default to a solid background color?

Hi cmgray, happy to help you out here. To find out which email clients do and don't support background images, I recommend you check out our CSS guide. There are workarounds to get background images displaying in Outlook, if you're feeling adventurous.

If you define a solid background color using attributes over CSS (ie. bgcolor="#FF0000"), then pretty much all clients will use this as a fallback.

All theb best, cmgray! Let us know if there's anything else we can help out with.
