I'm starting to see that this problem probably isn't possible, but I figured I'd give an ask to double-check.
I'm looking to send out an event email that allows a subscriber to forward an email they previously received and use the forward data to track those who forward it to a friend. I'm sending it with the understanding that each trackable forward would qualify them for an entry for a prize.
The problem I'm seeing is that if I pull in the forwardtomyfriend.com link from the earlier email it automatically updates to reflect the email I'm currently sending them and not the earlier email.
Also, I wanted to say that if I pull the web version's forward to a friend link it doesn't track the subscriber who forwarded it (regardless of if their email is in our database or not).
Hi martincorbin, you can view who forwarded an email and to how many people using our social sharing reports. This is only possible if you use <forwardtoafriend> links, which you can style up all you like.
When you forward an email to a friend using our <forwardtoafriend> links, a new email is sent, but devoid of tracking information. For privacy reasons, we do not collect the email addresses the email was forwarded to.
I hope this clarifies things for you, but let us know if you have any questions about this :)
