When I share my campaign on facebook from the facebook button included in the newsletter... on my facebook profil, the thumbnail of the link is always the twitter button of the newsletter... !? It looks non-professional.
How may I suppress that ? Is it possible to choose or force which image on the newsletter will appear on Facebook near the link ? Thanks a lot for any help. :)
Hi Pix, I think I know what's going on here - Facebook automatically picks the first image that appears in the campaign as the preview thumbnail. You can change this behaviour by:
1. Placing a more appropriate image earlier on in the code
2. Using og:title to set a custom preview picture.
Thanks, Pix! Let us know how you go :)
Thankx for the answer. In fact there is a big image in my newsletters always, and always before the twitter button, and there is the facebook button too before, but everytimes it shows the twitter button image when there is a share on facebook (on 4 campaigns now)... So there is a tricky mysterious thing with the twitter image. Anyway. I'll try your way to custom preview image but it's a core design way, so a real time eater and something impossible to make alone for my clients... So let's think about a check box of something like date in the design factory of campaign monitor to fix the default image for sharing... ;) Thanks again for the help. Best regards,
Hi Pixelboss, no trouble at all - I'll add your vote for more control over Facebook's Open Graph meta tags and keep you posted on this one. All the best! :)
