I'm having a problem with Android displaying a spacer gif as a solid black color. Falling short of creating specific colored spacer gifs, is there a reason this is happening only in my Android tests? The td color is set to #ebebeb. The spacer gif is transparent. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Interestingly, I just tested the Campaign Monitor mobile template and they have the same issues. Point to note: I'm not testing on an Android. I'm using the CM Design testing tool (which seem to be supplied by Litmus) which only gives you a result for Android 2.2.
Perhaps I should test on a 'real' Android...
Be good to know if anyone else is getting the same problems.
Hi hamishmark, would you be able to post your code here? I haven't come across this issue, but keen to see if it happens in Android default / Gmail.
I've just tested on an Android device and what I'm seeing has gone. It seems to only be showing in the Campaign Monitor design preview for Android 2.2. That being, all transparent spacer gifs are displaying as a solid black. Really weird.
My code is:
<td height="1" bgcolor="#e6e6e6"><img src="images/spacer.gif" width="580" height="1" alt="" /></td>
Hi hamishmark, thanks for the follow up here. Seeing as we're up to Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the test results may not be reflective of most modern Android handsets. We'll certainly go to our provider and see if it's possible to receive test results from a more recent version of the OS.
