Trying to change subject lines while carrying out tests

I seem to be going round and round in circles.
I have sent my latest newsletter out as a test to 4 email addresses twice and non have been delivered.
I have tried to go back to my saved template with content and change the A and B subject lines but can find no way of doing this without seemingly having to start all over again with a non-content filled template.
When I go to resend and click edit it simply takes me to a page showing progress!
I was also trying personalisation but did not want fallback = customer, I would rather have no fallback (ie no word used) or just something like 'Hi' - is this possible?

In regards to personalization, it is possible to have no fallback, ie. Hi [firstname, fallback=]. Please let us know if you have any trouble with this.
