Getting/Updating a Campaigns Details


I'm working with the API and I can't seem to find a method that allows me to get or edit a specific campaigns details (based on the ID)

Does anyone know how you can obtain a campaings details so you can update them (I need to pull out Subject, Name, FromName, FromEmail etc)

Hi thejackel, welcome to the forums. You can get draft campaigns for a specific client using the drafts method. You will need the client's ID, then can match the campaign ID with the returned draft campaigns.

At present it isn't possible to update an existing draft using our API, however you can certainly create new campaigns and delete old ones. If you're interested in a method specifically for updating existing drafts, I'd be more than happy to add a vote for this internally for you. Hope this helps! :D

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, it would be good to have a couple of methods in the API. One could get a specific campaign by ID and another could allow you to update a campaign.

I guess what you're saying is use the getDrafts() method to pull back drafts, loop through these and match to the ID you're looking for. A bit long winded but it should work.

Many thanks for your guidance and please do mention to your developers to include those methods. Overall, what I've been using of the API, it's well documented and easy to use. Keep up the good work!!

The workflow suggested is, unfortunately, the only option you've got. But it still won't help you to get the from name and email, which just aren't available anywhere in the API.

I've added your vote to the feature requests for:
1. update a campaign draft
2. get a specific campaign's details
3. include from name/email in the campaign details (in all contexts)

If you could implement the methods mentioned ASAP that would help quite a lot of people out, including myself.

I'll keep an eye out for the updates (any idea when new features are rolled out?)
