I want to add multiple 'tweet this' links to an email. I can do this by creating a link using the 'intent' formatting:
<a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cafeoto.co.uk&text=Cafe%20OTO%20announce%20two%20day%20residency%20with%20Ishmael%20Wadada%20Leo%20Smith%20%3A%2026-27%20August%202012&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cafeoto.co.uk%2Fishmael-wadada-leo-smith-two-day-residency-august2012.shtm&via=cafeOTO">TWEET THIS</a>
but it's kind of messy and would be nice to be able to do:
<tweet subject="~" url="~" via="~"></tweet>
And have campaign monitor parse it correctly for me!
Hi there John, thanks for your feedback here! As you probably know, our <tweet> tags only have attributes for via= and recommend=, however we're happy to consider extending it to subject and url in the future. In the interim, the intent method is the way to go, but we'll keep you posted if this is something we update in the future :)
Also, keep in mind that Twitter's intent share link activity wont show up in social sharing reports in your account.
OK. Thanks for the reply! Hope you can extend it in the future.
