I prefer using plain text emails. Is it possible to track the links placed in those mails? How? Could not find any info or posts on this subject.
It's not possible with Campaign Monitor - we found that the URLs we have to use to redirect and track links tended to be too long for plain text, and risk breaking, as well as looking slightly 'suspicious' compared to just using the base URLs.
For that reason, plain text URLs are passed through unchanged.
If I were to manually create a link, tinyurl-ize it and paste it in the plain-text email, could it be done?
It wouldn't be tracked still, because to do so means going through our servers, so we still have to add our URL on the front, and that code is not in place for plain text.
It would be nice if tracking text links was at least an off-by-default option. I don't even know if anybody is even seeing the text version since I have no data about interactions with it.
