Add a Facebook “like” button for my page to my email campaign?

Hello,

Is there a way that we're able to add a Facebook “like” button for my page to my email campaign.

The same way you're able to in MailChimp:

Hi there James, this is certainly possible. If you are coding a campaign from scratch, you can add our Facebook template tags in the following format:

<fblike likeurl="http://facebook.com/yourpagename"></fblike>

Alternately, you can add a Facebook 'Like' button with your page's URL via the template editor.

Thanks, James! Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

Does this really work? I doubt it... When I add an facebook like button to my website (like on Trouwlocatie in Breda and Golfen in Oosterhout) then I also have to put some javascript (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/re … gins/like/) into my index.php file... And adding javascript in an e-mail is not possible is it??

If it is possible, I really want to hear it!! Thanks...

Hi siennasmith, we've worked around the JS in email issue by placing the necessary code on an external page (ie. a browser window opens when you click the Facebook share link). Give it a try and let us know how you go :)

Is there a way this "Like us on Facebook" button can integrate with the code I use for buttons that is friendly with MSO?

                <!--[if mso]><v:roundrect xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word"
href="https://boktowergardens.org/live-at-the-gardens" style="height:45px;v-text-anchor:middle;width:165px;" arcsize="10%" stroke="f"
fillcolor="#E62614"><w:anchorlock/><center style="color:#ffffff;font-family:'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:21px;font-weight:bold;padding-left:40px;">
Check it out
                </center></v:roundrect><![endif]--><![if !mso]><a
href="https://boktowergardens.org/live-at-the-gardens" target="_blank" class="button" style="margin-bottom: 0;
background-color: #E62614;">
Check it out
                </a><![endif]-->

I think I originally got this code from you guys, at buttons.cm. I may have tweaked it over time, but it's originally yours.

Any advice?

You could always try using the sharer.php from facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?s=100&p[url]=https://boktowergardens.org/live-at-the-gardens

Here is a reference to FB Share dialog as they are encouraging devs to use this instead of sharer.php (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/reference/share-dialog). For this one you would have to create your own FB app I believe.

It's discussed here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20956229/has-facebook-sharer-php-changed-to-no-longer-accept-detailed-parameters)
