We're planning on using the API to hook up into an eCommerce system so we can send out emails to promote the customers to review products.
All ok with the whole API system however what we need to do is basically pull across a shopping basket (which will be in HTML) and drop this into each email. As you can imagine this will be unique for each customer.
Is this possible? If so how?
HI pierrevonschmytt, thank you so much for writing in! You're right about using our API - this will be key to creating campaigns like this. In addition, to pull in personalized images and text, you will most likely have to update subscribers' custom fields, for example, to dynamically pull in images like so:
<img src="http://yourdomain.com/images/[basket-item-1].jpg" /><br /> Don't forget to buy a [basket-item-1] before the holiday rush!
Admittedly, we aren't always a perfect fit for generating transactional emails, so you may want to take a look at what services like Postmark have on offer. Their API is already used by quite a few stores to create and send emails like what you've described. Best of luck!
