My client has a number of sales/account managers and would like to send out a single newsletter to his client list which will appear as it's coming from the clients account manager rather than a single generic contact name/email address. I have tried to create a custom field for "Account Manager Name" and "Account Manager Email" and then inserted the personalisation tags in the campaign setup but it will not allow it.
I have used a similar scenario in the past with another platform for a number of clients and find that it is an excellent way of cutting down the time to manually setup 20 plus campaigns.
Is there an alternative solution that anyone has used to achieve a similar setup?
Hey there Jaysco, unfortunately it isn't possible to customize the from name/email address at present using custom fields, however it's certainly one for us to think about. I'll add your vote internally and keep you posted if we update the app.
In the interim, a new campaign will have to be created for each unique from name/email address. Sorry about this!
I second this motion :) I've been using personalization tags to make the email signature look like it's coming from the account manager, but I keep getting complaints that when the subscriber responds to their email- they don't get the response, our generic email does. In the interim, I've been creating duplicate campaigns- but this would take each campaign-bundle of mine from 35 down to 1, and make the reports much more efficient.
Thank you, lizanne - I'm happy to add your vote for this internally. I should note also that it does help to be fairly consistent with your From name/address, so that's one thing to keep in mind
In the interim, could it be possible to set up rules/filters in your generic email inbox, ie. forward the email to Manager X, if Subject contains Manager X?

this seems like an obvious function to me - is this getting done? Event being able to get the reply-to and from-email in the templates would be a great help.
I'm surprised every time I come back that this still isn't possible. I can understand why some features take a lot of consideration or development time but this seems pretty trivial.
