Hotmail stripping inline CSS

Hi

I’m having some trouble with Hotmail seeming to strip out some CSS attributes on my P and H tags.

I’ve sent a test email to a Gmail and Hotmail inbox. It renders fine on Gmail but not Hotmail. On inspection with Firebug, I can see that in Hotmail the inline styles are empty.

So in Gmail I have
<p style=”margin-bottom: 5px;”></p>
but in Hotmail I have
<p style=””></p>

Exactly the same code was sent to both mailboxes.

Is this a known issue? It’s not oneI’ve heard about before and can’t find any reference to it.

Hi all

Just had a response on this from Email On Acid.

Seems Hotmail has now dropped support for any CSS margin completely and enforces their own bottom margin. Great!

Tiscali drop margins too. Maybe help, if you create content complete with tables and insert empty cells instead margins. It works.
