I have a number of forms on my site, once filled out, need to trigger an email to the user.
Adding a user to an Autoresponder list works great for this -- the first time. But doesn't seem to work when someone submits for the second time (because they are already subscribed to the list). I need to trigger an email every time someone fills out a form.
Contact Us Form > email: Hey we'll get back to ya soon!
Press Inquiry Form > email: Great here's some background to get you started etc...
Any suggestions to get the autoresponder to work for their second, third or fourth submissions?
Hi Lifeboat, thank you so much for looking into this. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to trigger our autoresponders following multiple signups, unless you do something clever with our API. At a later date we may consider making it possible to condition autoresponders on custom fields (thus making this task a tad easier), but until then, it's going to take a bit of code know-how.
If you do take a programmatic approach to this task, we can recommend checking out Postmark, as it's better tailored to transactional campaigns like this.
I'd like to see this as an option too - its useful to have 'welcome back' emails for people who leave and rejoin multiple times (which weirdly does happen quite a lot with one particular client - I guess they have an annual cycle)
Thanks, venncreative - we'll add your vote! You may also want to take a look at Customer.io as I believe their segmentation may allow you to mark subscribers as "Returned", etc. Ultimately, if we do introduce autoresponders based on segments, this should become something that can be possibly done from CM, so we'll keep you posted :)
Just updating this thread to let you know that autoresponders to segments is now live!
Thanks again for taking the time to give us your feedback, and we'd love to hear how the new feature works for you! :)
I love the new Campaign Monitor autoresponder feature. I think smart segmentation and automation is the future of email marketing.
That said, for those with web or mobile apps I'd combine Campaign Monitor AND some kind of event-based messaging tool like Autosend.io. That way, you can get the power of Campaign Monitor segments and automation, built into your app, not just for your mailing list.
From Australia to Zimbabwe, and everywhere in between, companies count on Campaign Monitor for email campaigns that drive real business results.Get started for free
