Outlook.com background images

Does Outlook.com as a rule not display CSS background images?

I'm using the VML solution which is (partly) working in Outlook + CSS background images for other clients (because I'm disabling the background on small screens via media queries). I'm *not* using the background="" attribute on the TD.

Does Outlook.com not respect CSS background images?

Outlook.com doesn't support css background images.

You're better off using the background="" attribute on the <td>, giving the <td> a class, and then removing the background in your media queries by targeting the class selector with background: none !important;

Thanks! I'll give that another shot, but I believe I had to drop the background="" attribute because CSS wasn't overriding it in my media query, even with !important.

Looks like that's working. I think the problem was that I was setting background-image: none in my media query, which didn't override the background="" attribute. Thanks!
