I'm having an issue with the 'Read More' link on our RSS articles. We want to achieve the result as per the template tags documentation - "If you don't specify link text between the open and close tag pair, default copy will appear, saying "Read more…"."
However, following these guidelines doesn't seem to work - we always get the full RSS item title as the link.
We've currently set it up like this:
<p style="color:#b3242c;">Read full story: <rssitemlink /></p>
which at least gives us the 'Read full story' prompt, but it would be better if we could just use the rssitemlink tag to simply display "Read more..."
Could you let me know how we would implement this?
Hi there, happy to help with this one! In order to link back to the article, you'll need to use a format like this:
<rssbody paragraphs="2" /> <span style="color:#b3242c;"><rssitemlink>Read more...</rssitemlink></span>
Instead of using inline CSS to style the link, you can just use your stylesheet to style the link and we'll automatically copy your styles inline on import of the template :) Thanks, m0n1t0r! Let us know how you go.
Many thanks - we'll give this a go!
