Gmail displaying call to action button from inbox

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Not too sure if this has been covered before but I noticed something quite exciting in my inbox today. Gmail has placed a direct call to action inside the subject line of my Spotify email. See screen grab below.

Clicking the button redirects to the song in the Spotify webapp. I'm wondering whether if there's any info around this? I haven't seen examples within other clients so only assuming this is a Gmail feature.

Thanks in advance

Found the answer :)

Called "Quick Actions", litmus have covered this in a blog post. Can see plenty of great uses however there's still the question of mainstream adoption :/

Hi tanmvo, we've been looking into Gmail Schemas with great interest, however Google does note that they "should not be used for promotional bulk mail".

We're going to continue testing and likely let you know what we find via our blog - stay tuned!
