We resell CM to our clients and a new potential client wishes to know how long delivery can take from the moment the campaign is sent.
Do you have an official policy on this? i.e. all emails will be delivered within 2 hours? Or does it depend on the amount of subscribers it is sent to?
Any 'official' line you can give us would be great so that we can pass this on.
Hi there Luke, how long it takes for email to leave our delivery servers usually depends on how large the list is. For example, while smaller sends to a few hundred, or thousand email addresses leave our servers almost instantaneously, our monthly newsletter (which goes to ~170k subscribers) usually takes a few minutes.
That said, ISPs like Gmail and Outlook.com can on occasion queue emails for a time, especially during busy send periods like US holidays. We try to proactively minimize these delays where possible and as a result, they are fairly rare. However, it's something to keep in mind.
