Does CM support the capability of managing subscribers outside of the CM subscription system?
We'd like to have a consolidated notification preference center on our website which would consolidate the different mediums we provide, email being one of them. We also leverage another vendor to handle SMS communications.
This would also mean unsubscribe links in emails would be directed to our website allowing them to manage all communications centrally.
We're fine doing this via the API if this model is supported.
Hi there derekr, interesting question here! It's certainly possible to use Campaign Monitor in this manner, however subscribers will still have to reside in a Campaign Monitor list in order to make sending and updating of details possible.
In regards to a customized preference center, you can certainly roll your own. You'll likely have to create a form that updates subscriber details using our API.
It's also possible to manage unsubscribes both across Campaign Monitor and your own database. Here are details on how to do this.
