I'm not sure if what I am hoping to do is possible in the Campaign Monitor model but here goes.
What I need is a single campaign to track the success of emails that are sent individually from a web application over a long (effectively infinite) period of time.
This means that the list of subscribers continually grows but the campaign is never physically "sent" (or it's continually sent depending on how you look at it).
I guess what I'm saying is how can I embed tracking code in an email template sent outside of CM and track it in CM?
i don't think you can directly track it...
Hi Garth, the Campaign Monitor service can only track campaigns sent from its servers, I'm sorry to say. That said, we are looking at supporting programatically-sent email campaigns soon (yes, transactional), so we're happy to let you know when you can try this for yourself. How does that sound for now? Sorry that it's not something we can do right now, but we hope we can bring you a great solution in the coming months.
Yeah ! Transactional email, finally ! Excellent news :)
Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce that Campaign Monitor has launched a transactional email service, so you can now take control of one-off, system-generated emails, use our email builder and view reports, all within your existing Campaign Monitor account.
If you are on one of our monthly plans, the fantastic news is that transactional emails come bundled in - so you can start sending, without spending an extra cent.
To start learning how you can use transactional and get inspiration for your own triggered email messaging, check out our new guide and our new API docs on transactional email. Thank you so much for all your feedback and support!
