How do we set up a client to be able to approve access using OAuth?
1. a client is set up under our account with a registered user with full account access;
2. the application opens the OAuth access page using (replaced) param values for brevity
3. User logs in and approves
4. The page says that "It looks like you don’t have enough access rights to authorize this application."
Thanks for reaching out! Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason the API key wouldn't work? It might be a bit easier and require less input from your clients.
No reason that the api key wouldn't work, but your getting started page does recommend using the OAuth authentication method. We also use OAuth on a lot of other API integrations without any problem.
Yes, we do recommend using OAuth, but in this scenario it sounded like the API key would be a better fit. Regardless, it looks like you have AdministerAccount, which beyond the access level of a person for a given client. Even with full permission, a person only has access to the "client" information and data. Only an admin has access to administer the account. If you remove that one item it should work out.
