Unsubscribe link > Inserting a hash

Is there a way to include a hash in the unsubscribe link directly from the campaign template?

Ex: mysite.com/unsubscribe?email=my@emailaddress.com&hash=asdf123

This is to add a layer of security so that people can't just pass in random email addresses to the URL and potentially cause an unauthorized unsubscribe.

Thanks!

Actually, the unsubscribe link in each email is generated specifically for each recipient and email (it does not pass the email address through), so we would not expect to see any real issues in this area. Let me know if I have not answered your question though.

Hey Mathew, I'm referring to the unsubscribe redirect URL so I can synchronize with my local database.

The example says you can do something like: www.mysite.com/goodbye.php?emailaddress=[email]But I'd like to add an additional hash parameter like this:

www.mysite.com/goodbye.php?emailaddress=[email]&hash=[some-secret-hash]

Is this be possible?

Thanks!

OK,

The only field we will pass through for you is the [email]one - you could add your own hash value, but it would have to be hardcoded in your link rather than unique per person. Does that make sense?

jy, I'd also forward the user to another URL after the sync page.

That way, most users won't ever see the URL with the email address in it, and will be less likely to do any harm.
