Each Campaign Monitor list has 4 predefined status groups:
Understandably, the labels for these are not editable as they are closely tied to core functions. It would be great, however, if one were able to create sub-groups of subscribers within a list and to give custom labels to these groups. Each such group would probably have an active status that isn't editable.
The reason this request has arisen is because a client of mine is trying to manage manual export and import of list data into their own systems and wants a way to keep track of which list members they have previously exported.
Being able to move subscribers into a custom group called 'Exported' and to be able to exclude that group from export would be much easier than managing an export status in another custom field.
I guess you might say "Why don't they use the API?" to seamlessly merge data. That may be the better way to go, but just thought I'd throw the custom group idea out there and see if there are any takers.
Hi watershed, thank you so much for your feedback here. While we don't have a facility for creating a custom category/tab just yet, you could possibly use custom fields and segments in the interim. It is possible to export a list of email addresses that belong to a certain segment, via both the app and the API. Certainly something for us to think about too, here, but hopefully this helps in the interim :D
Thanks Ros, I'll give segments a go.
