One of the most powerful tools available to any marketer is the ability to report. Data-driven marketers see remarkable success simply by sticking to the numbers.

In this video, we’ll look at the Reports and Insights sections of Campaign Monitor, showing you where to find key metrics that indicate email success.

Campaign Monitor provides a number of reports to help you measure the success of your email marketing and learn more about your subscribers.

Let’s look at a report for a single email campaign, starting with the Campaign Snapshot.

This is a summarized look at how your campaign performed. Key metrics here include the campaign’s open rate, click-through rate, bounce rate, and unsubscribe rate. You can even download this report as a PDF.

More detailed reports include the Link Activity & Overlay report, which shows you which links were clicked in the email campaign. In the Email Overlay, you can view a visual heatmap of where people clicked, seeing which buttons and CTAs attracted the highest engagement.

The last report we’ll click into is the Email Client Usage Report. This report summarizes which devices and email clients are being used to open your emails. You can use this information to optimize your emails based on the ways your subscribers are viewing them.

After you’ve sent a few email campaigns, or after you’ve been using automation for a while, Campaign Monitor will compile some powerful insights for you to learn from.

Let’s go to Insights at the top of the page. Here you can view trends in email performance, subscriber engagement, and more. You can even use this report to see which CTAs generated the most clicks across all campaigns sent in the last 30 days, and download detailed reports for further analysis.
