When creating emails, we often focus on using specific data and writing clever copy. But email design is also a vital part of your campaign’s success.

In this Email Minute, Shane provides a few email design tips you can use to make your emails look beautiful and professional every time.

 

If your emails lack great design, readers may delete your messages as soon as they open them.

In other words, you might be losing out on sales.

Hi, I’m Shane Phair, and this is The Email Minute. Today we’ll talk about email design tips you can use to improve email engagement.

First, keep your subject lines short and readable, so they’ll appear on all devices.

Looking for a pro tip? Consider using an emoji to shorten longer subject lines.

Second, your clickable elements need to be clear and easily-tappable on mobile devices.

Include plenty of white space around links and CTAs.

This will separate them visually and improve click-through ease.

As you’re designing the visuals of your email, remember to include alt-text that describes your images.

If your images aren’t visible, alt-text will explain the content. Plus, alt-text can make emails more accessible for the blind and those with limited vision.

Finally, make sure your emails are optimized for mobile.
