A lower score means one or more key metrics—opens, clicks, bounces, or unsubscribes—has fallen outside email-marketing best-practice ranges. Typical culprits include:
- Low open rate (subject line, timing, or audience fatigue)
- Low click-through rate (unclear calls-to-action or mismatched content)
- High bounce rate (out-of-date addresses or poor list hygiene)
- High unsubscribe rate (content or sending cadence misaligned with subscriber expectations)
Use the in-app recommendations to zero in on the metric that needs the most attention before your next send.
The initial score appears 24 hours after a campaign is sent, once there’s enough engagement data for a meaningful calculation. After that, it refreshes automatically as additional opens and clicks roll in, so you always see the latest view of performance.
Absolutely. Because the score reflects industry best practices, boosting any underlying metric will lift your score. For quick wins, try:
- Cleaning your list to remove inactive or bouncing addresses.
- A/B testing subject lines for higher open rates.
- Segmenting and personalizing content to increase clicks.
- Optimizing send times so emails land when subscribers are active.
The personalized recommendation beneath your score highlights the single most impactful change for your campaign—we recommend trying this action first.
Campaign Score is displayed by default on every campaign summary and can’t be disabled at this time. Our hope is for users to benefit from having quick, actionable insights into performance.
Unsubscribes and bounces indicate disengagement and list-quality issues, both of which can harm long-term deliverability. By factoring these metrics into the score, we highlight the importance of relevant content and healthy subscriber lists.
Not at all. Campaign Score is a diagnostic tool, not a pass/fail grade. A lower number simply shows where your engagement dipped below best-practice ranges, giving you clear guidance on what to improve next time.
