We’re Hiring

We don't hire all that often, and when we do we're a fussy bunch. We have five new positions available right now, so please get in touch if you fit the bill.

Open positions

Community Manager

Helping our customers complete their work as efficiently as possible is a focal part of what we do at Campaign Monitor. We regularly publish new help topics, blog posts, tweets and more, to keep our customers up to date with changes in the app, proactively respond to questions and provide the tools required to become a better email marketer.

As a fusion of both writer and customer service specialist, you will be the voice of Campaign Monitor, communicating with customers both one-to-one and as a whole. Ultimately, you will have a foot in our development and customer service camps - on one side, you'll be documenting changes to our app and condensing the technical details into a form that's relevant to our customers. On the other, you'll also be identifying customer enquiries that can translate into help topics, contributing to our blog and participating within our social media channels during Sydney business hours. It's largely self-directed work that requires accuracy and a generous amount of multitasking, not to mention a great opportunity to help others and share your expertise with the design community.

In our swanky Sydney office, you'll be surrounded by a great team that are more than willing to answer questions, keep you in the loop about upcoming releases and of course, provide lots of laughs. While we all work sane hours here, we'd like someone with an outgoing streak, who doesn't mind occasionally attending local events after-hours, as well.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, desirably with a background in blogging or tech writing.
  • Experience with managing site content using a CMS
  • Regularly participates on Facebook and/or Twitter
  • Can stay organised, even when multitasking

You'll be getting to know customers on a first-name basis, so if you're a social sort and enjoy helping people, this is an exciting role in which you'll regularly receive feedback and be personally recognised for your work.

US based Support Engineer

Our support engineering team works closely with our customers to ensure they have an amazing experience with our software. This is a role that puts you at the pointy end of Campaign Monitor. If our customer service team spots a problem a customer is experiencing that looks like a bug, it will be up to you to troubleshoot and ideally fix the problem on the spot. On some days you'll be pushing to production multiple times. That makes this a challenging, but also extremely rewarding role. If you get a kick out of looking like a hero and saving the day for people in need, this is the position for you.

While our head office is in Sydney, we're looking for someone to work from home (or we'll find you a sweet office) to cover US office hours. It's a remote role, but you'll be working closely with our US-based customer support team, plus the rest of the support engineering team back in Australia. This means you'll need to be a motivated self-starter who is happy hunting bugs and won't take "I can't figure it out" for an answer.

Technical requirements

While we're a small team, our software is growing at a crazy pace with more then 100,000 customers in 150+ countries to keep us on our toes. Here are the technical skills we're looking for:

  • .NET development in C#
  • SQL Server experience
  • Understanding of web architecture (how DNS works, load balancers, firewalls, the basics of HTTP)
  • You know your way around IIS
  • Javascript knowledge and familiarity with AJAX-based web applications.
  • DVCS familiarity (ideally with Git)
While they aren't essential, any of the below will also be a big plus for an applicant:
  • Experience with MVC .NET
  • Familiarity with IoC container
  • You've already worked with our API
  • Familiarity with mail server architecture and how they work

The key to this role is you need to be someone who enjoys helping people. Because you'll be working so closely with real customers, this is a very rewarding engineering role for the right person.

Test Engineer

As a member of our test team, you’ll be helping to shape our test approach, as well as testing new features and improvements for Campaign Monitor. You will also be helping us maintain and build upon our automated test suites, which are written in C#, using the testing framework WatiN.

At its simplest level, Campaign Monitor is a web application used for email marketing and analysis. However, dig a bit deeper and you will find that it is a complex system that offers a variety of different testing challenges. Some primary testing concerns are usability, accessibility, security, performance, load, cross-browser compatibility, third-party integration and mobile devices, to name just a few.

Testers are involved from design right through to implementation and release, making this a challenging role that will suit any tester with a special interest in improving software from day one of the development cycle.

Our ideal tester understands that there is always another question to ask; that nothing is exactly what it seems to be; that there are no absolutes in software. Here at Campaign Monitor, we are constantly evolving the way we work. Our testing processes and approaches are definitely not set in stone, we need someone who is able to reflect, adapt and improve with us.

We love people who are passionate about what they do and about improving how they do it. If you’re motivated by continuous learning and improvement, then we can give you the tools and support that you need. We'll also give you your own private office, a brand new computer, free lunch every day and flexible work hours.

Required skills

  • Ability to write code using C# or similar language (such as Java).
  • At least basic knowledge of CSS, Javascript and HTML.
  • Ability to create and define a test approach for any given context
  • Skilled at analyzing a product for testing, using a number of different oracles
  • A good understanding of metrics and their use in project analysis
  • Adept at writing robust test cases that stand the test of time
  • Ability to write clear bug reports quickly and concisely
  • Capable of establishing a good rapport with developers and other team members

We're also a very social bunch at Campaign Monitor, so you'll need to have a fun personality with great communication skills and be prepared to accept a ping pong challenge at a moment’s notice.

How to apply

To apply, well need the following three things:

  • Your resume
  • A cover letter
  • A document outlining how you would go about testing one of our features, Worldview

This position is full-time in our Sydney office.
