SEM is an acronym for Search Engine Marketing, which is advertising on search engines to reach a target audience via keyword targeting. It is also often referred to as pay-per-click (PPC). Paid search is used for a variety of purposes based on each particular industry and a marketer’s main goals. Many brands use it to increase brand awareness, increase the number of email sign-ups, to generate leads and convert visitors to customers.
